This is My Story
My Son’s Autism diagnosis rocked my world and was the catalyst for the greatest and most important journey of my life. It was 2007 and upon hearing the words I had suspected were true, I came to the realisation that the best way I could help him, and others who suffered similarly from stress and anxiety, was to teach him how to manage this himself. Long term medication could simply not be the ONLY option open to our family as suggested by the medical professionals that diagnosed him.
I attended every seminar, workshop and training event I could manage on Autism, Stress and Anxiety Management, Sensory Processing Disorders and Speech and Language delays and started to implement strategies like ABA Therapy, Makaton and Meditation at home. Speech and Occupational Therapy became a part of our everyday lives with my husband and daughter playing an integral part in their implementation in the home.
(I soon realised that ABA Therapy was not for us. I do not subscribe to the principles of ABA Therapy nor do I use this therapy in any part of my Counselling sessions).
As my son grew I wanted to explore the educational settings and options available to him so I volunteered my time at Frankston Special Development School. Understanding more about the school system and the stressors that might accompany it was so important to me that I studied to become an Integration Aide. I started paid employment in this line of work once my son started primary school.
My son survived mainstream school, and for the most part, was able to manage his challenges with the strategies we have used over the years in conjunction with Psychology, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy. As his body and mind matured in his teen years, he was of course faced with new challenges (which teenager isn’t?), but at this stage he is still medication free and is graduating year 12 VCAL this year.
I have continued to study whilst helping others by adding value to each service I offer. I am passionate about working with both children and adults to heal, by inspiring them to manage their stress and anxiety in a natural, holistic way. Bringing the traditional and alternative together through Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Counselling, Colour Therapy, Crystal Therapy, Reiki and other healing modalities I can provide a personalised approach to managing stress and anxiety.
My workshops and counselling sessions include teaching the parents and siblings as well so they can help not only the individual in question but also themselves; improvement of individuals as well as the family as a whole. Individual, small group, family sessions and workshops, cater to client needs providing a variety of formats to best suit their stress and anxiety. Workshops and group sessions include a variety of visual, auditory and kinesthetic (tactile/physical) presentations and activities to cater for all learning styles.
As a winner in the National Business Brilliance Awards for 2019, I also contribute articles to local and national media including The Peninsula Kids Magazine. I also contribute to local and national podcasts and Facebook Live interviews.
As a provider with the National Disability Insurance Scheme, I am also grateful for the opportunity to work with a variety of special needs families providing an alternative to a medication only approach.
I love what I do and with clients providing feedback like “Extraordinary Counsellor”, “Relates brilliantly to kids”, “Life Changer” and “Authentic and Intuitive”, I feel incredibly grateful to be able to do what I love.
I am very conscious of “walking my talk”, meaning I make time each day for meditation and reiki. I also love spending time with my family and coming up with new ideas each week to spend some quality family time together.
What I want most is to help you create calmer kids and a happier family.

I am booked in for my reiki masters in the Usui Shiki Ryoho discipline with Kim Norton. I find Kim to be a rare find these days. As her teaching methods are thorough, authentic, efficient and very healing. As she shares her knowledge and abilities with integrity and sincerity. Kim is very talented in many areas. Which is why I also, send two of my boys aged 10 (diagnosed with severe adhd/asd) and 13 (diagnosis severe inattentive adhd/asd). To do one on one sessions at Rainbow Light Therapies . To help them better manage their emotions and anxieties surrounding societal life and its expectations. This helps them to navigate and to better understand themselves through, “societies mainstream system”. Kim is able to teach and practice her healing methods. Because, Kim has aquired not only a great education in varied healing arts. But, because, Kim also, has personal experience from life, which brings empathy to help her fulfill her clients needs. Kim also, has experience with the NDIS programme. Which has proven to be very helpful. Opening up her abilities to reach a larger scale of clientele of those in need. A real Gem x
